Getting started with Hatched Mail

Sign up, create your account, and send your first email in under 5 minutes.

What you'll need

  • A PurelyMail account (free trial available at purelymail.com/signup — starts at $10/year)
  • An app password from PurelyMail (we'll show you how to get one)
  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge)

Step 1 — Create your Hatched Mail account

Go to our signup page and enter your name, email, and a password. This creates your Hatched Mail account — it's separate from your PurelyMail account.

You'll get a verification email. Click the link inside to confirm your email address. If you don't see it within a minute, check your spam folder.

Step 2 — Connect your PurelyMail mailbox

After verifying your email, you'll be taken to Settings. Here you connect your actual mailbox so Hatched Mail can read and send your email.

You need an app password from PurelyMail — not your regular PurelyMail password. See our guide to connecting PurelyMail for step-by-step instructions with screenshots.

Step 3 — Start reading email

Once connected, you'll see your inbox load. That's it — you're ready to go!

Try these next:

  • Press / to search
  • Press C to compose a new email
  • Press ? to see all keyboard shortcuts
  • Star important emails by clicking the star icon or pressing S

Step 4 (optional) — Install as an app

Hatched Mail is a PWA (Progressive Web App), which means you can install it on your computer or phone like a native app:

  • Chrome/Edge: Click the install icon in the address bar, or menu → Install Hatched Mail
  • Safari (iOS): Tap Share → Add to Home Screen
  • Safari (Mac): File → Add to Dock
  • Firefox: PWA installation isn't supported — bookmark the page instead

Once installed, Hatched Mail opens in its own window with offline support for reading previously loaded messages.

Free vs Lifetime

The Free plan gives you 1 email account with all core features. The Lifetime plan ($79 USD, one-time) unlocks unlimited email accounts, scheduled sending, email signatures, file manager, priority sync, and GDPR data export. Pay once, own forever — no subscription.
